9:50AM - don't wanna go hooomes...but I also DO...

Arr, I have to drive home today. I know it's okay, but I'm not looking forward to the long, boring trip.

Yeeesterday Zaaly and I drove around Richmond rather aimlessly for a while until we saw a wee little white dog nearly avoid getting squashed on a busy road. No one else was stopping, so of course we pulled over and tried to call the dog over. The mud-covered dog responded by bolting straight up the middle of the road, scaring the shit out of the two of us as cars tried not to flatten her.

We called the animal control people and they told us that there was only one officer on call in the area and that it would take him a while to get there. So, we spent the next hour trying to keep the little dog out of the road. She was getting exhausted, but kept getting a second wind and dashing back into the road. Finally she ran behind a house and pressed herself up against a big muddy woodpile next to a swamp in some redneck's backyard. We closed in on her, and she was snapping and snarling and plainly just terrified. I took my shirt off and netted her with it, and Zaaly put a branch over her while I wrapped the shirt around her head.

So I was there in just my bra, and we were waiting for the a-co guy, so Zaaly gave me her shirt because she had a tank top on underneath, and when the dog started to calm down I picked her up, still wrapped in the shirt. She was dirty and horribly matted and didn't have a collar, but after a few minutes she mellowed out and stopped trying to bite, and at long last the a-co guy showed up and took her to the shelter. I really hope they find her owners. :< Poor thing. Exciting mini-adventure, anyway. It was past dark by the time we got out of there and came back here.

11:06PM - ADVENTURE

So Harry Potter was awesomesauce. The end was a little m'eh and I feel like the death eaters could have been SO MUCH MOAR destructive and Snape like 10x less of a fail but all in all it is my favorite movie so far.

I got today off and we slept until noooon. Then like I don't even know what we did, we watched Big Cat Diary and sat around until I had to run an errand for work. We then went to Short Pump and puttered around for like two minutes after we got some food and looked at books. :< There are NO good Korean history boooks argh. Anywho, I feel like balls because I'm a girl so we headed home.
BUT then we went to the mall for a few to drop off a book I ended up keeping. It was nice to be in Waldenbooks again. After that I had a craving for an Irish creme latte so we went to Ashland to retrieve one.
AND THEN I decided I'd just take 54 and 301 home instead of the highway. Driving past Hanover Wayside, we saw a tiny little white dog (I think a shih tzu). She was running all in the road and ragged, matted, and dirty so we pulled over and chased her around. And we ended up chasing her about half a mile down the road (probably more).. through peoples' fields and all over. She was super fast. Called animal control but it was a while before they came and got her. She eventually went into a redneck's back yard ... place and, exhausted, settled into a pile of wood on the edge of the woods. Zeki and I stalked her like a pair of lions and crept up on her slowly so she wouldn't run. Zeki took off her shirt and put it over her head while I pinned her with a stick XD She was calm after that, but she was BITEY before. I had to give Zeki my shirt 'cause I had two and she had none. So we carried her up out of their yard and to the road where we met up with animal control and handed her over. It was exciting!
And then we went to Walmart all disgusting xD Zeki bought a wallet but it sucked.

I want to watch a movie but Zeki went and laid down and I don't think she is coming back down :< It's getting late. Oh wait, there she is. XD lol.

12:45PM - 1 vs. 100 Live Studio Video

I was reading reviews of 1 vs. 100 Live Beta and I found this short video from inside the studio during a live show.  Kind of neat if you like the game.

12:27PM - Cool Lamp

I had a dream that I was at this place, and we needed light, so I produced this lamp (bought it somewhere?). And I set up the lamp and it was 5 lights of varying sizes on extendable rods. They were all clustered around the center of the base, which I realized was like an air pump and pumped it a couple of times to get all the lights extended up fully. At which point I realized the light was also an air filter that processed the air through all these little compartments with water in them. And it was like, cool lamp! But then I realized that there was a fish in one of the compartments, and as I looking I realized there were a lot of fish in all of them, it was like a tower of fish tanks around this lamp that purified air. It was fucking awesome, and I made a remark that I couldn't wait to ask Dad about some of the fish. But then I had to move the lamp, because it was in totally the wrong spot (upstairs in some room when it was supposed to be downstairs in another). And of course in the process of moving it, the lamp totally fell apart, which upset me, but not in the "I'll never fix this!" sort of way, or in the "Oh noes! The Fishies!" sort of way, but in the "Well, this sucks, but let's take it apart and get it back together" kind of way. And then of course I couldn't get it together and woke up.

10:07AM - Bye bye

I just spent 15 minutes reading back over entries from the beginning of this academic year in a nostalgic way and was once again totally disgusted in myself. What a loser I am. I also noticed everything I wrote about was all over the place and sporadic; lacking focus. This was the same as what was happening away from my computer. I was always under the impression I could do X and Y, and go to Z and A, but it never happened. From now on both my life and my Livejournal are to be more focussed. Chemistry, German, Friends. I should get my head together this year. Probably doesn't work due to all the waving around it does of it's own accord when I'm talking :)

Going to Matt's later (and then working until Monday), feeling slightly shit tbh; but water off a duck's back and all that. I've been persisting trying to write stuff when I have nothing interesting to talk about, which probably isn't helping my cause, so I'll see you all again soon. Possibly even September :)

3:25AM - OOOOH SNAP

SNAPE KILLED DUMBLEDORE

Movie was fuhdabulous! Bellatrix is hilarious. XD But woooow it was longer than I expected. We dressed up and people were all 'your costumes rooock!' HELLZ YAH

5:36PM - the Write Stuff

I recently reconnected with an old friend of  mine - Sara Stauffer - who I hadn't spoken to in several years! It was really great to talk to her again. The main thing that's so weird about talking to someone from several years ago is that their memory of you is like a time capsule of  you at that time.

The main things that stood out about me at that time to her:

Bon Jovi
Writing

I figure stuff out! )

11:43AM - IIII'M A LITTLE CURIOUUUS

Yesterday was awesome. Zaaly was working all day AGAIN, but Katree and I went and kidnapped Ojo and went to Hollywood Cemetery to explore a little. It's a lovely cemetery, covered in ivy.

They're closing early these days, so we only got a short while before some old dude in a pick-up told us to leave, and then we went to the asdfghjklfabulousness that is Belle Isle. Long ago it was a POW camp during the Civil War, and served several other purposes over the years, but now the swamp and the forest has swallowed it back up and completely concealed the places where thousands of captured soldiers died of disease and starvation. Little trails wind up and down steep hills, emerging on sheer rock ledges overlooking swampy ponds and the James River. People flock there to swim in the shallow part of the river by an amazing rock beach, but even with the flow of visitors it manages to feel like an amazing secret, and it's hard to believe that when you cross the bridge you'll be back in downtown Richmond.

I'm rather torn between loving them to death for taking me there, and wanting to smack them in the heads for never taking me there before. Belle Isle is easily up by Maymont as one of the best places in Richmond. It's like a dream come true if you love urban exploration, or boulder-hopping and rock-climbing. We barely even got to scratch the surface, though, and I can't wait to go back and get a look at the catacombs.

Zaaly is working agaaain today, and so is Katree, so today I'm hanging out with James, who I haven't seen in years. I'm in high demand here. =P

And toniiiiight we're going to the Harry Potter premiere, yay! Can't wait.

1:58AM

Ahh...no day is complete without a small art project that blows entirely out of proportion. Of course, I could have been done a lot faster if I hadn't been chatting and texting in the midst of it. Even still, it turned out about a thousand percent better than I expected it to. So hoorah! (And no, I'm not going to tell you what it was...that would give it away.)

Life is moving along here in Blatimore. With every day I plot the destruction of the Blatman...it's only a matter of time before I strike.

We got renter's insurance today. It was hella cheap, which was nice. But strangely, we didn't need to sign anything (I assume the policy will come in the mail and we will have to sign and send something back...but whatever. It's paid for at this point, so I'm not too worried). In fact, getting it set up was really easy, as in effortless. The hard part was when John and I went looking for the office, and realized that I was sadly misinformed (FACT: Allstate=/=State Farm) and had to 411 it to find the place. Good times. And everyone in the office seemed to know who we were. It was just a really nice, but weird, sort of situation.

On a different note, why would you ever order this?

7:08PM - For Daniel

Her name is Carina Round and she reminds me a lot of Regina. Billy's been doing some collaborative stuff with her perhaps you'd like her stuff:

2:50PM - Ding Dong the Apartment is DONE!

So we actually finished are mother fucking apt on time! Who would of thought it was possible. and even more amazingly who would've thougtht/imagined/dreamed that it could actually be DONE!

It's been such a project since we decided to move out in the middle of Febuary but finally finally finally I am done with that place. Not to say I hate it. It was another dank basement which i'm totally not doing again. But it was also my first place - our first place of our own and the home we came back to after getting married. We really grew as people and especially got to find ourselves as a couple in that shithole so its forever special in my heart. But its still dank. Now the real hope is that we don't get charged more than our security deposit Xfingers crossedX but we'll deal with it. I just love our new set up in my mom's house. The bedroom has sky blue walls with kind of a black furniture motiff and the "living room" is dark forest green which is highlighted so beautifully by the white trim. In the green room we've tried whenever possible to have wood colored furniture and create a kind of forresty feel. I love that green. It is so vibrant and deep, but not overpowering. And we have carpet! Nice, thick new carpet. At the old place the floor was cement with the thinest raggyest piece of crap carpet. The floor would make your knees hurt if you stood on it too long.

11:37AM

I had a kind of exciting dream this morning. And by 'kind of exciting' I merely mean it wasn't boring, not that it had any kind of coherency or intrigue.

Anyway it seemed to be me and Zaaly in Christiansburg, driving around in the bookstore parking lot, when this crazy skinny dirty old guy, with one arm, came flailing out of the bushes and jumped in front of the car, and there wasn't any time to react and Zaaly rolled the car right over him, and we were totally horrified and stopped and looked back, and the guy slowly picked himself up and ran after the car again, waving his one floppy arm and freaking the hell out, and we both screamed and Zaaly sped away, but we quickly got stuck at the red light, and the guy made this spectacular leap onto the back of the car and started clawing at it.

I locked the doors and pulled out my cell phone and dialed 911, and the crazy old guy fell off the back of the car when the light turned green, and then he started attacking the car that was waiting to do a left turn. The 911 operator picked up and I was like 'omg, this old guy with one arm is running around the freeway jumping on cars. Actually, I think both of his arms are gone...'

Indeed at this point his other arm had fallen off, and it was apparently a prosthetic anyway because there was this nub where it should have been, like a doll. He'd stopped chasing cars and was running blathering and waving his arm-nubs after these screaming women wearing big poofy dresses and bustles like Victorian ladies... um, I guess they were walking on the freeway. Then the 911 operator told me she wanted to help, but she couldn't because she was actually an AT&T operator in Ohio. Also Zaaly was blaring the Beauty and the Beast soundtrack and being really annoying.

I never got to find out what happened next because Zaaly's all-too-real cell phone woke me up blasting Caramelldansen. <_<

Current mood: amused
Current music: um, a vagisil commercial. awesome.

9:36PM

Oooof. Spent most of the day sitting around her with Zaaly until she went to work... and then I took a nap until Katree got here, which, incidentally, was right about when Zaaly had a break to come home for dinner. After she went back to work, we went to Hanover Wayside and sat on the dam above the swamp and ate blackberries and caught peepers for a while, then wandered around the trail and found an owl feather. I've missed being able to explore swamplands; they're lovely places. A heron flew overhead and a barred owl was calling in the trees and there were tiny peepers and bright dragonflies everywhere.

Eventually we had to leave and went to a tiny, nondescript Chinese place just before it began to rain buckets, and had to stick around there until the storm passed.

Nooow we're just sitting around watching TV and waiting for Zaalymo to get off of work so we can sit around and watch TV even more. XD

Current mood: calm

12:37AM - SPICY EYES

Sabi was super-stressed out by yesterday's trip. She'd actually scratched her little paws raw clawing at the door. I was worried to death last night, but she's doing much better today.

We grabbed Ojo from work and went to Maymont today, which was fun as always. Didn't get to see the otters for long enough, though. We walked all around the nature trail and I ran around the bamboo forest tunnels and climbed around on the waterfall while Zaaly and Ojo sat around being lazy. =P I freaking love Maymont. I'd live there if I could, like a forest hobo.

Theeeen we came home and got dinner and then took Ojo home, but not before stopping by the pet store so Zaaly could buy cat litter... and a bird. XD She got a pretty lilac-coloured parakeet to keep her current 'keet company.

Now we's watchin' Bolt. Super exciting.

9:52PM - D: Adorables

I got a new parakeet today, 'cause I've been planning on getting a cagemate for Moony for... AGES.
She is a light dusty brown on top, with a soft grey-blue bottom and a tealish tail. I have named her Gallea.

She is SO SWEET. She is sitting on my knee being adorables :3

11:35PM - What do I do when John goes out of town?

I stay up watching that Spirit horse movie and BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAW'ing.
wtf

11:32PM - faaaail

Today I worked from 8 am to 9:45 pm. For majority of the day I was the only one working in the store. We were very busy. Lots and lots of drama. And cops.

And that's all I have to say about that.

BUT ZEKI IS HERE YAAAAAY

11:01PM

I am once again online! w00t!

But we still haven't completely solved our phone/internet woes. Tomorrow I'll try using a different filter that I happened to bring with me, and if that doesn't work (and I don't think it will), then I will have to use the internet to conjure up directions to a store that will be able to provide me with one that does...assuming that's possible.

But for now, we have internet, and if I were to unplug that, we could have local phone. So yay!

Other than the phone woes, the move went pretty well. And the apartment is nice (though my room is a little small...but like I've said to others, all the important stuff fits in it; i.e. bed, computer, fav. books).

More stuff later I guess.
